Coco-caprylate/Caprate

Coco-caprylate/Caprate

Common name:

Caprylate/coconut caprylate

Ingredient description:

Caprylate is a mixture of esters of caprylic and capric acids with alcohols from coconut oil. An oily emollient derived from the alcohols found in coconut fat. A natural substance with occlusive properties - this means that it forms a layer on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporation and therefore also has an indirect moisturising effect. In contrast to artificial silicone, it does not impair the skin's gas exchange. Direct application is not recommended, as it can have a comedogenic effect. However, it is suitable as an ingredient in moisturising, lubricating and care cosmetics.

Cosmetic action:

It intensively softens and smooths the skin. It is used both in creams and lotions and in cleansing cosmetics, rebuilding the natural lipid layer in real time. It lubricates and nourishes the tattoo zone.
