Titanium Oxide

Titanium Oxide

Common name:

Titanium Oxide

Ingredient description:

Inorganic chemical compound. A mineral filter that protects against UV radiation. It is primarily used in sun care products as it reflects the sun's rays, preventing them from penetrating into the deep layers of the skin. The ingredient itself also does not penetrate the body, so it is indifferent to the health of those using it. In addition to the cosmetics industry, it is also used by medicine (e.g. for the production of orthodontic composites), the pharmaceutical industry (as an ingredient in dietary supplements) and the food industry (as a colouring agent).

Cosmetic action:

Protects the skin against both UVB radiation (which mainly threatens the epidermis) and UVA radiation - which penetrates much deeper, even into the subcutaneous layers. It protects the ink from being broken down and removed from the cells.
