Octyldodecyl Oleate

Octyldodecyl Oleate

Common name:

Octyldodecyl oleate

Ingredient description:

Octyldodecyl oleate is an ester extracted from olive oil. It occurs as a yellow-coloured liquid. It is an emollient with a softening and moisturising effect on the skin.

Cosmetic action:

In cosmetics, it acts primarily as an emollient. This means that it forms a film on the skin which prevents excessive evaporation of water from the epidermis. It therefore plays an indirect role in moisturising the skin. It also softens the skin and makes it easier to spread the cosmetic product.
