Polyhydroxystearic Acid

Polyhydroxystearic Acid

Common name:

Polyhydroxystearic acid

Ingredient description:

In cosmetics, it acts as an emulsifier - it combines the water phase with the oil phase to form an emulsion. It improves the consistency of the cosmetic and makes it easier to spread. It also increases the stability of the cosmetic and extends its shelf life. Allows insoluble ingredients to combine with cosmetic formulations - for example, minerals and pigments. It is often used as an ingredient in cosmetics with mineral sunscreens.

Cosmetic action:

It forms a protective layer on the skin, preventing water evaporation. Therefore, it has an indirect moisturising effect. In addition, it lubricates and softens the skin. This prevents the tattooed skin from becoming excessively dry.
