Ingredient description:

Silica is also known as silicon dioxide. It is an ingredient of natural origin that can be found in minerals and plants such as field horsetail, among others. It can be in the form of white powder and clear crystals. It is insoluble in water and acts as a stabiliser in cosmetics, as it stops emulsions from unravelling. It influences the consistency of the cosmetic - prevents clumping and increases viscosity.

 

Cosmetic action:

Silica has an astringent effect and absorbs excess sebum. It also has a skin conditioning and smoothing effect - it reflects light to improve the appearance of the skin.
