A trihydrogen alcohol formed in the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids. It was discovered by accident, as a waste product during soap production. It has found a wide range of applications from cosmetology, medicine and the food industry to pyrotechnics. It facilitates the dissolution of fats and is soluble in water and alcohol. It prevents cosmetics from drying out and has a preservative effect. It binds water molecules and thus prevents water loss through the skin. At the same time, it facilitates the penetration of nutrients into the deep layers of the skin.

Cosmetic action:

It deeply moisturises the skin and at the same time opens up the path by which nutrients penetrate the skin. This is particularly important for tattoo cosmetics, which need to work very deeply to be effective.
